My name is Shathees Loganathan. I'm in SAP consulting world since 2004 and specialized in Apparel and footwear industry. In addition I'm one of the two directors and the chief software architect of AZIONE Technologies, which develops and implements educational software platforms.
I strongly believe that implementing ERP is not just installing the software. It involves Change management. Consultants have to play a big role in implementing the solution. They have to use their functional and technical knowledge to draft a solution that will work for the client. The main point that every consultant has to understand is each client is unique. As well as I believe that a true ERP consultant should understand and handle the technical aspects of the software is being a used and should posses a strong business sense. If a consultant only knows the functional side, he may under utilize the technical possibilities offered by the software. On the other hand if he only knows the technical aspect of the system, he may try to implement each and every functionality offered by the system with out considering the practicality.
